What's the Mystery Blanket Club?

The Mystery Blanket is a unique one-off project that is split across 10 months (1st February - 1st November). The completed blanket measures approximately 135cm x 135cm.

About Mystery Blanket

Basic membership

Each member receives ten sets of monthly emailed patterns and two parcels containing over thirty balls of premium quality yarn and embellishments to knit and assemble a blanket. The mystery is that you won’t be told the theme of the project, so part of the fun is to discover this while you are knitting it up!

Download pattern option (no knitting kit)

We are offering the option of ten sets of patterns as monthly downloads (no knitting kit) enabling you to use yarns and beads from your own stash to knit the blanket. The list of yarns and beads for the first part of the kit will be released a week before the project begins.

What’s in store for 2026?

Debbie is thrilled to be producing her own bespoke 100% wool yarn for this project, produced by the UK-based company Laxtons. And she has combined it with a selection of some of the most popular yarns in Rowan’s premium collection including Felted Tweed, Alpaca Soft DK and Pure Alpaca. In contrast to this year’s soft and soothing colour palette, Debbie has opted for a vibrant selection of colours for next year’s blanket including rich red, warm orange, peacock blue, emerald green and deep indigo.

You’ll be taken on an exciting knitting adventure with forty-nine mystery squares to knit up in an inspirational mixture of techniques including stitch structures, cables, stripes, fairisle and intarsia. And there are plenty of beads in it too, giving the blanket an extra sparkle!
